Disney Movie night - Snow White 

Who is the fairest of them all? It's Movie Night! At our house we make it a whole day event with fun activities, themed dinner and whatever fun things I can think of. I'm trying to have them watch all the Disney animated movies in chronological order.

 The biggest thing I've thought about is teaching my kids the values in the movies that we are watching. In Snow White we see true beauty vs jealousy, friendship, caring, how an apple a day doesn't always keep the doctor away. 😄

 

Art project -Mirror, Mirror on the wall - Pinterest has several different types of mirrors but the idea is all the same aluminum foil glued on to pretty designed "mirror frame."  

Teaching the idea of beauty true or not meant spa day which my 5 yr. old daughter loved. face masked, did her hair, had her wear snow white dress. We did makeup and got all pretty for dad. 

Next, we played with a sensory bin I called "Heigh HO it's off to work we go bin ". Put dirt in a bin with trucks, bugs and goodies for them to find (different coins). 

Bird watching while we played outside, and I played the songs from the movie. 

Lunch of course needed apples! Very Fiber filled themed day. 

We went with dwarf theme and had mini corndogs and baby carrots as well.

For dinner we have

Entree: potato soup with sausage balls 

Appetizer charcuterie board with apples, crackers, cheese, sausage, berries anything that could be found in a forest.

desert: apple pie and "mud pie" with Oreos and gummy worms.

Appletini for the adults!

The movie was a classic perfect way to start the theme nights, with music and good concepts to teach my children. Sure, my daughter wants to hold every wild animal now and pretends to sleep after eating her apples. Shes a romantic at heart and teaching her that prince charming isn't going to come while taking a nap in the woods. We will take that one day at a time.

Some things to get off my chest: I HATE Cleaning (made this blog as another thing to do instead of cleaning) Any cheats along the way that I find I will share with you.  Another thing I love DIY and Disney,

I was homeschooled, by two ordained pastors who owned a construction company and in-home daycare. Which means I was raised to build anything and have fun with kids while doing it. Useful as a SAHM 

Living a small-town lifestyle and only having one car my options are limited.  Which mean being creative and exciting.
